The new MW season started here and I switched from FM to MW. FM season was reasonably ok as late summer had few decent openings. I still have few recordings from Es season, but I have mostly done with it. MW propagation has been as bad as it was during the spring. La Plata has been heard the most mornings when there has been a transatlantic opening. The best catch so far has been 780 Radio Nuevo Tiempo, Juliaca. I think this was the first time when this station was heard in Finland and I managed to get a reply via Facebook from the station.

I finished my MW season about six weeks ago. I’ve been a bit lazy to send reception reports, but some interesting QSLs have arrived. FM season has also started but it has been very disappointing so far.

642. Radio Pakistan, Peshawar 1260 kHz

This one arrived by mail. I heard this new MW tx from Pakistan last October, so it took over 5 months to arrive.

643. WMMB Melbourne FL 1240 kHz

I still have some US stations to send reception reports. The Regional Program Manager of WMMB, Ken Holiday, replied quickly. WMMB was heard in the 4th of February, same time with WDMC Melbourne FL on 920.

644. CMHW Doblevé, Santa Clara 840 kHz

CMHW was quite regular station on 840 kHz with another Cuban, Radio Revolución. 840 kHz is interesting station as any South American station is rare. From Central America I heard also R Nacional de Panama and 4VEH La voix évangélique d’Haïti last season. Doblevé replied via Facebook but it took 2,5 months.

645. HJAZ Frecuencia Bolivariana, Monteria 1160 kHz

Frecuencia Bolivariana is very rare station but it was heard by several Finnish DXers in the 21st of January. This is the station run by Universidad Pontificia Bolivaria. HJAZ replied quickly via Facebook.

646. HJZT Radio Auténtica, Manizales 1570 kHz

I heard Radio Auténtica same time than Frecuencia Bolivariana. This one is not as rare as Auténtica, but not an easy catch either. They replied in 10 days via email.

647. CP115 Radio Caranavi 1550 kHz

QSL from Bolivia is always the worth of big HURRAY! Caranavi was my 4th QSL from Bolivia. Out of blue they replied in 3 months to my follow-up email. I don’t think that anyone heard Caranavi in Finland during this season.

648. HJDU Emisora Cultural Universidad de Antioquia, Medellin 1410 kHz

Emisora Cultural is quite easy to hear on 1410 kHz. It doesn’t ID very often but it is easy to recognize as they broadcast a lot of jazz and classic music. Secretaria Ana Cristina Guisao David replied via mail in 10 days.

649. HCGC5 RCG Radio, Gualaceo 1410 kHz

This was the mystery to me before I got a clip from Gert, GNH who heard this with much better signal in Sweden. After few attemps RCG Radio replied to me via Facebook. First one in Finland perhaps?

Today I sent some more f/up-reports for stations I heard last year. Luckily I got two quick responses:

HJKR Radio María, Bogotá 1220 kHz
When I noticed this clip, I remembered that I just received verification from Radio María on 1580 kHz. And for my enjoyment Marina Meza replied to my email and verified this other Maria. This HJKR I have heard only once – last November.

WOOD Grand Rapids MI 1300 kHz
Since last Autumn I have heard WOOD often during the stateside openings. I didn’t got replay to my first report but then today Phil Tower, Director of Programming & Operations replied to my email quickly.

So QSL total 2013 is now 140.

Last week I had some new verifications:

CRI Cerrik
I never got QSL from Radio Tirana in the “old days”. And as I visited in July in Albania by myself, I decided that it is time to get this country verified. I listened CRI’s French programme on shortwaves and after few weeks they replied to my email with a promise to send a proper QSL card via mail.

Follow up to 2012 report resulted a quick email.

Radio Marija 1053 kHz
Second QSL from Russia in a few days! This was also to f/up report. Heard same time than Radio Iasi.

WLCM Holt MI 1390 kHz
This one was heard during the excellent NA-condx in January. Jeff Frank, N8HEE replied to my f/up report.

WHK Cleveland OH 1420 kHz
Brett Patram, Chief Engineer replied 3 months after my report. This was the 50th NA QSL in 2013.

WCMN Arecibo, PR 1280 kHz and WUNO San Juan, PR 630 kHz
Wanda Pereira replied quickly to my f/up report to WCMN. Then I remembered that I heard also another NotiUno station last winter and quickly Wanda replied to my WUNO report too.

ZYH585 Rádio Clube Fortaleza CE 1200 kHz
For this and two other SA QSLs I got v/s information from JHY. JHY had tried to get a verification for Clube 1200 for over 10 years. Henrique Gondim replied to my report very quickly. I heard this Clube in April.

HJDS Ondas del Montaña, Medellin 1350 kHz
German Roldan Lopez just didn’t send a verification but also some photos of flowers. Later he emailed to me a show which I heard.

HJQZ Radio Maria, Barranquilla 1580 kHz
This Maria was heard very often last winter. V/s-info Marina Meza resulted a replay to f/up in one day.

Now I have 138 QSLs in 2013. Maybe I should aim to 200? It needs some propagation anyhow. Just sending f/ups is not enough.
